Hello again các em, I hope you're doing well and doing great at school so far. I have to say I don't like schoolwork at all because it can be impractical and time consuming sometimes, but that's all part of growing up and it's for our own goods so always try to look on the bright side if you could. :)
In this class of giáo lý, all the notes or lectures will be provided to you in one single page (this page you're reading). Your job is to check in at least once a week, to read and to think for a moment about all the little quotes or messages which will be presented throughout the text. When it's time for chapter tests (at the end of each chapter), you will be given a link to play a Kahoot game (or small quiz). Hint: You can always press and hold Ctrl+F on a Windows computer to find the keyword you're looking for.
This week we'll begin our faith journey with Chapter 1 so your homework during this week is just to read Chapter 1, and of course attending mass at anredl.org/live on Tuesdays and Sundays as usual. Then if you have a minute to spare, please take the short quiz above about our upcoming election (only 3 multiple-choice questions), for fun. It will ask for your name each time so if you don't want to use your real name for all the quizzes, just send me an email so I know which nickname you're going to use. :)
For Chapter 1, I will save all the details for next week so you can refer to it while taking the test (right click on the Kahoot link and open it on a different tab). For the main points, what we can take away from this chapter is when we question about our own faith (which is completely normal and I have been there), try to ask in a constructive way so that our faith may grow from it, AND not to do it in a destructive way just so we can disprove a point and then go on to live our lives however we want (which is dangerous and well, destructively).
Another thing to remember is try to have an open mind if we're ever confused about our faith (I have and multiple times!). When we wanted seek the Truth (or God), we must go through a door called L-O-V-E. Because it is only when we can let our heart be freed from hate and judgements or stereotypes, we can then easily see God in everything and everyone we love. After all, didn't we all hear this from somewhere: God is love (1 John 4:8). :)
Alright, I hate to stop here but I guess that is it for now các em. Here is one of my favorite quotes to end this week's message: “Faith is like a toothbrush. Every person should have one and use it regularly, but he shouldn’t try to use someone else’s.” – J. G. Stipe
