Hi các em, I just had to cancel a shift (a set number of hours at work) to do my homework and stay "here" on the keyboard with you guys for a little longer so... life's still been great! :)
How was your Halloween weekend? Are you excited to come back to our new church soon and hang out with your friends? We have quite a bit of different masses this week so if you can't attend all of them (I can't), I just wanted to remind myself that Facebook "rewatch" is still available so... whenever we have time and if you could make it to the church, that's even better but please take a good care of yourself especially during this time, and don't eat too much candy, but leave some for thầy Trung! ;)
I would like to start this week's message by sending lời chia buồn (condolences) to one of your classmates, Brandon, who just lost his grandma a few days ago. Let us pray that by staying in faith and doing our good deeds, all the souls will be saved and we'll be all seeing each other in the sight of God someday.
This coming Sunday the 8th, our class is scheduled to xưng tội together with lớp 5 at 12:30pm so please stop by our church around that time if you would like to see cha Vinh and to do the confession (you're not required to if you don't feel well, or safe). With that said, here are the sample forms (or templates) to xét mình and xưng tội if anyone needs them. We're also asked from the school to save money for the poor and bring it back during Christmas or whenever you can.
In addition, the school wants us to pray the Rosary each day for the rest of this year but I think not every one of us will even remember to do that so here is the deal, whether you're doing it or not, "talk" to God from the bottom of your heart as often as you can. What I mean by that is in this super busy (and chaotic) life that you're going to enter, try to pause for as many silent moments as you can (to think about whatever that's in your head that could make you smile), and always be thankful or grateful about everything and everyone around us, sad or happy, liked and... not liked.
This could be a meal that we just had to the parents who gave birth to us (in perfect condition with no disabilities), and last but not least, to God who's making our life (and everything in it) possible. It's in gratitude that I find our sorrows or troubles in life will be easily taken away and you can see God clearly again on our journey of faith (or our journey to him) so... no matter how you pray or "whisper" to God, make sure to remind ourselves to give thanks each and every day as soon as when we're awake (as early as in our dreams!), and as late as when we go to bed again and cover ourselves under that cozy blanket. ;)
Anywho, those are some announcements and are the only things to do or prepare during this week. Next week there is no class due to confessions so for both weeks 8 & 9, there will be no lecture or homework regarding the chapters. I will still update this page each week to let you know if there's any changes or announcements from our school so... check back any day during a week if you're bored. :)
Alright các em, I'm off to go to Mass of Souls now and I hope you are too so join me in praying for the souls of our loved ones and before I forgot, welcome us all to November and thank you for coming here while... being there. ;)
