Catechetical & Vietnamese Cultural School News

The Catechetical and Vietnamese Cultural School at St. Andrew Dũng-Lạc Mission has two tracks:
  • Catechetical Program
    This program aims to teach preschool and school-age children and those who are interested in learning about the faith, prayers, teaching of the Catholic Church, and faith formation. This program also promotes charitable causes and organizes fundraising events in which students and families are involved and engaged in supporting the poor, the disadvantaged, the homeless, the sick and the homebound.
  • Vietnamese Language and Cultural Program
    This program aims to teach preschool and school-age children the Vietnamese language and Vietnamese Cultural and Heritage In parallel, the program promotes and celebrates the Vietnamese Culture throughout the year with events such as Tết (Vietnamese/Lunar New Year), Mid-Autumn Moon Festival, etc. in which students and families are involved and engaged.
The school is staffed by volunteer teachers and supporting personnel. Teachers are encouraged to attend subsidized training and seminars.

Classes meet on every Sunday during the school year. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the school currently provides distance learning and online live-streamed lessons and on Sundays with a reduced schedule. Students can download lessons and assignments as well as join live-streamed lessons through links provided at http://anredl.org/glvn/glvn.html.

Schedule (Every Sunday)
  • 11:30AM-12:30PM: Youth Mass (Live-streamed via fb.com/anredunglacoregon)
  • 1:15PM-2:15PM: Vietnamese Language and Cultural class
  • 2:15PM-2:30PM: Recess/Break
  • 2:30PM-3:30PM: Catechetical lesson
Schedules for Vietnamese Cultural celebrations will be announced in advance for each event.
